Dawson
Admissions Officer
Senior Trip Evaluator
Dawson wears two collars. Dawson interviews each potential Adventurer, and also explores each destination before we add it to the schedule and gives a grade from 4 paws up to 4 paws down.
In her spare time, Dawson participates in Agility and Search and Rescue. For several weeks each fall, she gives up all her other hobbies to hunt pheasant and quail. Dawson is involved in a twelve step program for her tennis ball addiction.
Malachi
Leader of the Puppies
Malachi guides and shapes our Prep School Puppies. He loves his job! He both encourages and corrects them with perfect timing and technique so that each puppy learns the skills needed to become a full fledged Adventurer.
When there are no puppies, Malachi loves to mix it up on his own outdoor Adventures – trail run, hike, swim, lie in the sun. He's an adventurous omnivore and loves a good meal so he works out hard to keep slim and strong, despite encroaching middle age. You need to be fast and agile to keep up with puppies!
Kim
Queen of the Sleepover
Kim is bright, athletic, active and social. Yet, she knows how to curl up and nap when the opportunity arises. Though she only takes one Overnighter at a time, Kim lives with an extended family of humans and small dogs so dogs are never lonely or bored. Dogs of all sizes (but especially our more petite Adventurers) LOVE to stay with Kim.
JosieBelle
Intern
Josie is young, happy, enthusiastic and athletic. She has an wonderful gracious demeanor and is loved by both humans and canines. Our young clients love her playfulness. Our overnighters and older dogs appreciate her respectful and welcoming nature. Josie prefers big open spaces with nice views, but she is working hard on her Pacific Northwest trail and forest skills.
In her spare time, Josie loves to run long distance and play team ball sports of all kinds.
Ann
Dog Spoiler
Ann and her dog Sandy host the occasional overnighter at their historic turn-of-the-century (the last one not this one) home. Ann also doles out great snacks when we take the dogs to visit her shop in Carnation. Yum. Yum
Ann and Sandy have big old fashioned yard with trees and grass and plenty of room to run or to snooze - twin college age girls to assist with the spoiling. Lots of walks around town when you stay here and you get to sleep on the bed (maybe) . River and Dawson LOVE Ann . You will too.
Erin
Adventure Leader
Erin loves most all dogs – big dogs and small dogs! But she is especially fond of the pointing breeds. Erin is a terrific athlete and has gobs of energy, which is just what pointing dogs love.
Erin is a mountaineer and climber and reformed soccer addict who loves being in the outdoors and who loves her dog Remy. Yup - he is a German Shorthaired Pointer
Tamara
Person in Charge
Tamara drives the truck, pays the bills, and carries the backpack. She lets dogs in, lets dogs out, lets dogs in and lets dogs out. She also makes the snacks. In her past life she was an Air Force pilot, an oceanographic researcher, a software engineer. She is avid mountaineer, whitewater kayaker, and knitter. She is an emergency medical technician (EMT-B), and a Wilderness EMT. She has worked as a vet tech and is certified in Animal First Aid. She can also repair the car and throw the ball.
She has no free time – dog in, dog out, dog in, dog out. If Tamara had any free time she would nap in the sun, roll around in the grass, dig holes in the garden, chew on some socks, and whine at the door.
